SUMMER maritime enthusiasts are being asked to get snapping selfies for charity and win tickets to a boat show.
Hamble-based MDL Marinas wants to see how people are making the most of the summer sunshine and show off their activities, including racing, social events or just a day’s relaxing.
The business has pledged to donate £1 per selfie up to £1,000 to the Ocean Youth Trust if it has the hashtag #MyMDLSelfie.
The ocean trust charity uses sailing as a personal development activity for people aged 12-25, taking them to sea in a 72ft yacht.
Dean Smith, operations and marketing director at MDL Marinas, said: “The My MDL Selfie initiative is a fun way of engaging with our berth holders and marine enthusiasts, while supporting a very worthy cause.
“We’re thrilled to be able to make a donation to the Ocean Youth Trust South this summer – their work is outstanding and we’re proud to be able to support it with the campaign.
“We are looking forward to making the donation as big as possible with our customers’ help.
“My MDL Selfie has some great dining prizes up for grabs with the campaign, so I can’t wait to see the best selfie poses.”
Entrants will have a chance of winning £50 in dining vouchers at restaurants in the marina portfolio, as well as tickets to the Southampton Boat Show.
Winners will be able to see their winning snap at the MDL Marinas stand.
Entries are now open and will close at midnight on Friday, September 12.
To take part, photographers can share their pictures via the MDL Marinas Facebook page or on Twitter at @mdlmarinas, including the #MyMDLSelfie hashtag.
The best entries will be made into a Facebook gallery, while the cream of the crop will be used in a video reel at the Southampton Boat Show.
