MEMBERS of a Southampton community travelled back in time to mark the opening of a new community garden.
A 1950s and 1960s-themed party marked the end of the project at Ventnor Court in Bassett Green.
Southampton City Council has been carrying out a major makeover project at the supported housing complex.
The most eye-catching addition has been the new community garden, which has a pergola, paths and a host of new plants.
It has also led to residents setting up a gardening club to look after and improve the garden.
The buildings at the site have also seen a number of improvements, such as new energy-efficient lighting, scooter stores, lifts, drying areas, a kitchen and a redecorated lounge.
Residents came together to celebrate the end of the project at the party, which saw a DJ spin tunes from the 1950s and 1960s.
