A BOWLING club has been given almost £5,000 to help rebuild its pavilion.
Lockswood Bowling Club, in Locks Heath, needs to replace its pavilion canopy, which was destroyed in last winter’s severe weather.
Fareham Borough Council has given it £4,999 in a Community Fund grant to put towards the total cost of replacing the old canopy with a new PVC conservatory.
The new structure will be used by spectators and to hold social events for club members, such as barbecues, quiz nights and board game evenings.
Any resident or organisation based in the borough can apply to the Community Fund to pay for one off purchases.
