THOUSANDS of people will flock to the south today as one of the country’s biggest air shows continues.
Day three of the Bournemouth Air Festival 2014 takes place today and a high-octane programme is in store.
It's all about the Vulcan XH 558 today, the world’s only flying example of the jet, which will be bringing its distinctive roar to the seafront when it makes its one and only appearance at this year's festival, thanks to a collective effort by Merley House, Vulcan to Bournemouth and Vulcan enthusiast Stephen Young Lord of Westbury and Waxham.
It will be the Vulcan's first appearance at the Air Festival since 2012 after its flight was cancelled last year due to safety reasons.
Sadly the Canadian Lancaster has had to pull out today due to a serious engine problem. The aircraft was due to join the only other airworthy Lancaster bomber for the first time at Bournemouth on Saturday and Sunday.
The Red Arrows, Eurofighter Typhoon, Tigers Parachute Display Team, Rolls Royce Spitfire, Miss Demeanour and Black Cats Helicopter Display Team are all on the programme too for today.
