ONE of Britain's biggest rappers was in Hampshire today to crown a local charity the best in the country.

Grime star Tinchy Stryder did the honours as Fixers, a national charity founded in Winchester, won the public choice National Lottery Award.

Fixers, a youth outreach group, works with 13,200 youngsters aged 16 to 25 to launch their own campaigns for change on issues such as cyber bullying, self-harm and the need for random acts of kindness.

Leah Khalfan, 23, of Lionheart Way, Bursledon, started a campaign to educate people on how to tackle climate change.

She said: "Fixers is absolutely amazing - the fact that they heard my voice, I can't describe it. It's something I'm passionate about, climate change, and they've given me a voice and others who feel they can't speak up about it."

Tinchy said: "So many young people from different backgrounds don't have the same opportunities, but this is something which gives everyone a voice. It's really powerful and mind-opening."

Almost 7,000 people voted to help Fixers clinch the award.
