Two paramedics and a lorry driver have been taken to hospital after a crash which has closed a road in New Milton.
Emergency services have been called to Lake Grove Road at the junction with Fernhill Lane after a crash involving a Ford Transit drop-side lorry and an ambulance just after 2.20pm.
The scene of the accident
The driver of the ambulance, a second paramedic and the driver of the lorry suffered serious injuries and had to be cut out of their vehicles by the fire service.
None of the injuries are thought to be life threatening.
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said that their vehicle was en-route to an emergency, and was driving under ‘emergency road conditions’.
Another resource was later used for that emergency and the two staff members have been taken to Southampton General Hospital.
Fernhill Lane and Barrs Avenue are closed to traffic. Drivers are asked to find alternative routes.
The road is likely to be closed for two hours, whilst accident investigation work is carried out.
Buses have been diverted.
