A SPONSORED row has raised hundreds of pounds for a Hampshire organisation that helps adults with learning difficulties.
David Kellaway who works for Windward Day Services in Netley Marsh, spent almost three hours on a rowing machine at the Totton branch of Asda.
He rowed 21 miles – the equivalent of crossing the English Channel.
Mr Kellaway, 40, of West End, said: “I’m told that 21 miles is the shortest distance across the Channel – but it didn’t feel all that short to me!”
He hopes to have raised about £600 towards the cost of providing holidays for some of the people who use Windward Day Services.
“It’s great opportunity for them to go away with their friends for a week and also provides their parents and carers with a nice break,” he said.
