BOSSES behind a scheme to protect part of the Hampshire coastline have revealed that more than £90m worth of properties are at risk of flooding.
The Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership (ESCP), on behalf of Fareham and Gosport Borough Council, has started a consultation with residents in Fareham and Gosport on its Coastal Management Strategy.
This comes after those leading the scheme found that the area between Burridge, Portchester, Fareham and Gosport has £92m worth of residential and commercial properties at risk of flooding from a significant flood event.
This will increase to £569m over the next 100 years.
Four public events will take place detailing the defence strategy options.
These are at Ferneham Hall, Fareham, on September 9, Gosport Discovery Centre on September 10, Hill Head Sailing Club on September 11 and Warsash Sailing Club on September 18.
All run from 12pm to 7pm. Visit escp.org.uk.
