DJ LEGEND Tony Blackburn proved he was a top-notch Internet surfer when he launched a new service for Southampton residents.
In a Hawaiian shirt and with a surfboard tucked under one arm, the famous BBC Radio One disc jockey dropped into Thornhill's Eastpoint Centre to launch myguide, a new scheme to encourage people to surf the net. There are now 64 myguide centres in the south east - with three in Southampton - where people can learn to use the Internet and email for free.
Dorset born Tony said: "I use the Internet every day - I wouldn't be able to exist without it.
"Everything you hear now is www-dot this or dot com that and to a lot of people it means nothing - but the Internet has something for everyone."
Southampton's myguide centres can be found at the Eastpoint Centre in Thornhill, Southward House in Dibden Purlieu and Pilands Wood Community Centre at Bursledon.
