A HAMPSHIRE head teacher stayed true to her word and got showered in freezing water thanks to the generosity of her students.
Krista Dawkins, head at Crestwood College in Eastleigh, came up with a novel way of encouraging pupils to donate to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) charity.
Rather than simply taking on the ice bucket challenge and asking them to donate money, she set them a task.
For every £100 raised by pupils, a member of staff would soak themselves with ice and water, and if £600 was raised she herself would up-end the bucket on her head for their enjoyment.
And she, along with five other teachers at the school, sacrificed themselves for the greater good.
Mrs Dawkins endured a soaking along with Sally Mitchener, Tim Nash, Steve Gibbs and Andrew Whittick.
