A SPORTS therapist is today due to run through Southampton as part of a gruelling challenge, writes Sam Waddington.
Amy Hughes is tackling an astonishing 53 marathons in 53 days, and is set to head through Southampton on her 32nd 26-miler.
The 26-year-old, from Shrewsbury in Shropshire, is hoping to break the world record for the most consecutive daily marathons – as well as raising money for charity in the process.
Amy hopes to raise funds for the Isabelle Lottie Foundation, which raises awareness of early brain tumour diagnosis.
She said: “I have had a couple of family members that have died through cancer so it is quite an important charity to me.”
She will finish her last marathon in Manchester on September 27.
