DISCO divas got the party started early at the second full day at Bestival.
Pop singer Sophie Ellis Bextor took to the main stage today to welcome thousands of revellers ahead of this afternoon's mass fancy dress parade.
She addressed a crowd already sporting their Afros, flails and sequins in advance of the desert island disco themed procession.
But her set received only tepid applause at first as she started with her more down tempo tunes from latest album Wanderlust.
But everyone got on their feet when she played her older disco tunes and she received rapturous applause to Murder on the Dance Floor.
She was followed by the Cuban Brothers with eccentric frontman Miguel Mantovani hyping up the crowd amid stop start Latin, hip hop and funky beats.
At one point he leapt into the crowd and, in the confusion, it took a couple of minutes before he reappeared on stage.
Organiser and Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank personally introduced Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, telling the crowd in the Big Top that it was the hip-hop act's last ever gig.
Seven years after sending a demo tape to Rob da Bank and being signed to his label, Scroobius Pip told the crowd: ''It sounds kind of strange but I want you to look back at this gig with smiles, but I kind of want it to be through tears.''
Their act was followed by The Kooks who took a surprise guest slot.
Earlier Welsh metal group Skindred got the early afternoon crowd dancing and smiling with their unique form of joyous and anti-establishment heavy rock music.
Nearly 55,000 people are starring in the fancy dress parade which wound its way over two hours from the campsites to the main stage.
Earlier some of the best dressed took to the Catwalk stage to strut their stuff.
Julie Robinson from London won with her shiny disco ball hat and gold hotpants suit.
Later today indie rockers Foals are headlining on the main stage.
Also will be the much anticipated London Grammar.
A secret guest will play in the Big Top too.
Annie Mac plays at The Port and James Zabiela in The Bollywood stage.
Meanwhile a Hampshire couple have tied the knot for the second time in three days.
Donna Clark and Darren Smith set sail to the Isle of Wight after their wedding at Southampton Register Office on Thursday.
Today they said their vows all over again in front of thousands of revellers at Bestival.
The couple from Totton were married in the Big Love Inflatable Church.
