HE may be pint-sized but Britain’s smallest man proved he has a big heart as he took on the ice bucket challenge.
Michael Henbury, who has starred in several blockbuster films, had been nominated for the charity stunt by a colleague at the UK Border Force in Southampton.
Initially he argued that because he stands just 2ft 11in he should only be doused in a smaller amount of water.
So his 10-year-old nephew Simon Leah tipped a small bucket of water over him.
That prompted Michael to boast: “Nothing to it really, I don’t know what all the fuss is about.
“It’s quite easy!”
But it turned out to be only a taster of what was to come as Michael’s son Joseph, 13, tipped a large bucket of iced water over his dad – to much laughter from his family.
“I nearly drowned,” joked Michael, who took the challenge in his back garden in Eastleigh.
“I may have to go to A&E now.”
Michael took on the challenge in aid of another work colleague, Keven Lamb, from Portswood, Southampton, who is currently being treated for myeloma, a form of cancer, at Southampton General Hospital.
He filmed his challenge and wants his actions to raise funds for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity in his friend Keven’s name.
Michael is no stranger to stardom on the screen, having appeared in numerous films.
The 55-year-old, of Sparrow Square, has starred as an ewok in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and a goblin banker in Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows.
Shivering from his soaking, Michael completely forgot to nominate anyone for a challenge. He told the Daily Echo he had intended to nominate his agent, actor and TV presenter Warwick Davis.
