A COMMUNITY has come together to raise funds for a local respite centre.
Local disability charity Vitalise held a bring-and-buy sale at its respite centre Netley Waterside House.
It welcomed the local residents through the doors, raising more than £300.
Items for sale included clothing, bric-a-brac, books and toys and there was entertainment and activities as well as a tombola and refreshments.
Julie Price, area manager of Vitalise Shops, said the day had raised £326 and that a Christmas event will be in the pipeline.
Charity Vitalise provides essential breaks for people with disabilities – including Alzheimer’s and dementia – and carers at Netley Waterside House, in Netley Abbey, and two other accessible UK centres, with 24-hour on-call nursing care, personal support and a range of accessible excursions and activities.
