BRAIN tumour patient Ashya King has arrived in the Czech Republic where he will get the specialist treatment his parents have been so desperate for him to have.
The King's touched down in Prague this lunchtime after a three hour flight, on an air ambulance, from Malaga, where the five-year-old has been treated for nine days.
On arrival in Prague Ashya's dad Brett said: “We're just so happy to be here, it's taken us a month but Ashya can finally have his proton treatment.”
The Proton Therapy Centre, where he will receive the specialist treatment, gave the go-ahead for him to travel after reviewing documentation from the Spanish hospital.
Ashya was taken by a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance to be driven to Prague's Motol University Hospital, five miles from the private clinic, and taken into intensive care.
It is hoped that he will be taken to the specialist centre tomorrow for test and if all goes as plane, he could begin his proton treatment on Monday.
Mr and Mrs King were arrested in Spain after they took Ashya from Southampton General Hospital on August 28 without medical permission.
They were released when prosecutors withdrew a European arrest warrant last week after mounting pressure.
A hearing in the Family Division of the High Court on Friday, saw Mr Justice Baker rule that Ashya could be taken to the Czech Republic.
