RAY Davies has extended his UK tour and will be appearing at the Southampton Guildhall on Wednesday May 30.
Davies' tour proceeds the release of his critically acclaimed solo debut effort Other Peoples Lives and has seen him trawl the western World through Europe, the UK and USA.
The songwriting mastermind behind the sovereign rock 'n' roll of The Kinks, Davies is regarded to be one of the greatest lyrical talents to have ever emerged from the 1960s music scene.
Fresh from being awarded the BMI Icon Award last month and thankfully being inducted into the UK Hall of Fame in 2005 (Cliff Richard managed to claw his way in before The Kinks), his debut is a product of inspiration from his time spent in the vibrant city of New Orleans.
An enormous influence on artists such as Paul Weller, Pete Townshend and Morrissey, Ray Davies live is an essential experience for any music lover.
Tickets: £26.50. Box office: 023 8063 2601. Further info at www.ray davies.info.
