HE’S famous for being one fourth of one of the UK’s biggest ever boy bands.
Now former JLS star Marvin Humes has packed away the colour-coordinated outfits to bring his new music project to Southampton tonight.
The 29-year-old heads a new dance collective called LuvBug, which was born out of love for ’90s house music and raves.
Fans can get a glimpse of the trio, which also features producer The White N3rd and Grammy-nominated songwriter JKAY, at Switch nightclub in Above Bar Street.
LuvBug have been collaborating for 18 months and released debut single Resonance, featuring British R&B vocalist Taley Riley, earlier this month.
Marvin became a household name in 2008 when JLS made it through to the final of ITV’s hit talent show The X Factor.
The award-winning group went on to sell millions of records and released the hit Beat Again as their debut single.
JLS, which consisted of Marvin, JB Gill, Aston Merrygold and Oritse Williams, made their last ever performance in December last year but Marvin has been working behind the scenes as a DJ, producer and remixer.
Marvin married fellow pop star Rochelle Humes, of the girl group The Saturdays, in 2012.
The White N3rd’s remix skills have graced artists like Diplo and Azealia Banks and Londonbased JKAY, formerly one-half of the duo Tracklacers, has worked with Afrojack and Danja.
Marvin said: “LuvBug has been a project in the making for a long time now and I'm so excited that it’s finally out there.”
“Working with JKAY and N3rd over the years has been brilliant and I can't wait for everyone to hear all of our music.”
Doors open at 10pm.
