THERE’S nothing teenage girls like better than a mass scream.
So when the latest hot boy band’s tour rolled into Bournemouth on a soggy Sunday night they were in their element.
The Vamps were formed just two years ago but they’ve already got an army of devoted fans and an arena tour lined up for next year.
Brad, James, Connor and Tristan were probably still in their hotel rooms when the scream-fest began.
A few video clips of the boys on a screen was enough to create mayhem so when they actually turned up in person the crowd went nuts.
The Vamps could never be accused of slacking – they were on stage for an astonishing 100 minutes.
Their hits Wild Heart, Somebody To You and Can We Dance went down a storm and the mums and grans in the room were delighted with their latest single, Oh Cecilia, reminding them of Simon and Garfunkel.
They barely had enough material to fill the time but a few crafty covers including Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift will always do the job with a crowd like this.
They’re cute and they’re pretty good – perhaps they’ll be the ones to take the crown from the increasingly flaky One Direction.
The fans were still borderline hysterical as they gathered in the foyer, merch in hand, waiting for a lift home to bed. Their parents may have been hysterical for a different reason by the time they got home, ears ringing and soaked to the skin from fetching the car.
