POLICE intercepted a drugs runner after he left a Southampton flat and found he was carrying a small bag containing nine wraps of heroin and nine wraps of cocaine.
The city crown court heard teenager Karolis Sulcas had been put under pressure to sell the drugs by a man who was directing him over a mobile phone.
Prosecutor Tim Moores told the court police then went to the flat where they arrested the man, who had been allowed to use the premises by the occupant.
Sulcas, 19, of Belmont Road, Southampton, admitted possession with intent to supply and received 18 months’ supervision after Judge Gary Burrell QC heard he had spent eight months on remand, which defence barrister Richard Griffiths described as being a salutary experience.
Martin Traves, 43, of Westridge Road, Southampton, was handed a 12-month supended sentence with 18 months’ supervision after admitting he had allowed his premises to be used for the supply of drugs and for three unrelated charges of driving away from service stations without paying for fuel.
Michael McGoldrick, defending, said Traves had bought drugs from the third man who asked him to use the flat. “He closed his eyes to what was going on. He has since been engaged with a drug team and he is now drug-free.”
The court heard the third man was awaiting trial.
