ALRESFORD Town Council has released the results of numerous public exhibitions and meetings about where new homes could go.

In a report at Thursday’s full council meeting, chairman Lisa Griffiths revealed that 64 per cent of respondents are in favour of proposals to build nearly 400 homes at Sun Lane.

The council endorsed the ideas in July, and has held public meetings and exhibitions throughout the year, attended by more than 1,000 people.

The report said: “Feedback forms delivered by hand, post, or email were received from 405 individuals.

“Of these, 261 (64 per cent) were in favour of the original Sun Lane proposal, 96 (24 per cent) were in favour of the alternative and 48 (12 per cent) were in favour of neither and did not wish to see any development.”

It also said the main concerns were with traffic, parking, design, affordable housing and open space.
