FIRE crews rushed to the rescue of city centre finance workers today who were having a fire drill.
Hundreds of employees quickly put down their paperwork and left their offices as alarms rang throughout their building.
Crews from St Mary's fire station arrived at Old Mutual House in Southampton, the city premises of finance company Old Mutual Wealth, just after 2.30pm.
But when they arrived at the building, formerly Scandia House, they realised it was a false alarm.
A spokeswoman from Old Mutual Wealth which is based at the building told the Daily Echo they had had a fire drill.
Nobody was injured.
