THE world's largest cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas, docked in Southampton today.
Hundreds of people lined the city's Mayflower Park to see the gargantuan ship make her way up Southampton Water this morning.
Helicopters circled as the Oasis of the Seas was led into Mayflower Park.
It is the first time the Royal Caribbean vessel, which was launched in 2009, has visited the city.
And people came from far and wide to witness her Southampton debut.
Spencer Routledge, 41, who works in IT had travelled from Harrow, London.
He said: "We came down from London on holiday and I saw that the ship was going to come in so we thought we would come and watch.
"I have been visiting Southampton for years because I love its history, particularly the history linked to the Titanic."
Wendy Garrett, 62, a nursing assistant from Palm Road, Maybush, also watched the ship arrive.
She said: "I wanted to see the ship because I live in Southampton and I have been on two cruises. It's the biggest ship I've ever seen."
Passengers will be boarding all afternoon. It will leave Southampton for Vigo, Spain, and Fort Lauderale, Florida tonight.
With the capacity to house 6,296 passengers and an extra 2,000 crew, the vessel has revolutionised cruises.
She boasts features ranging from Central Park, the first open air garden at sea, to FlowRider surf zones where guests can ride waves and 24 dining options.
Other firsts include the Rising Tide bar - the first-ever moving bar at sea - the first zip line on a cruise ship and the first beach pool at sea.
