THE jury in the trial of a brother accused of murdering his identical twin will continue to consider their verdict today.
The 12-strong jury spent all day yesterday deliberating whether Robert Cerqua is guilty of murdering his brother Christopher with a single stab wound after a fight broke out at their family home in Langdown Road, Hythe, on New Year’s Eve last year.
The jury were sent home by the Rt Hon Justice Teare last night after nearly six hours of deliberation.
This morning they will be re-shown the kitchen knife Robert is alleged to have used to stab Christopher.
They will also rewatch a video of body-worn camera footage recorded by a police officer when Robert was arrested at a New Year’s Eve party at Abbotsfield, Totton, in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Robert, 31, of Langdown Road, Hythe, denies murder.
Proceeding.
