A MAN suffered burns in a fire in a Southampton home.
A fire crew from Redbridge Fire Station was called to the blaze in the first floor flat in Evenlode Road, Millbrook.
They quickly extinguished the flames which were coming from a chip pan by using a fire blanket.
One of the residents in the home suffered minor burns as he tried to put fire out before firefighters arrived, but was not taken to hospital.
A spokesman for Redbridge Fire Station, said: “It was good they had smoke detectors fitted otherwise it could have been alot worse.”
The fire broke out at 12.50am and was put out by 1.20am.
