DRIVERS on one of Hampshire's busiest roads are facing major tailbacks this morning.

A broken down car on the A31 eastbound close to Rufus Stone has blocked a lane and is causing delays.

A police spokesman said that traffic is backing up towards Ringwood, but the car is expected to be moved by a team from the RAC within the next hour.

The accident has now been cleared but drivers are facing at least 20 minute delays.
