A young woman was stabbed on a Southampton estate in the early hours of today.
The 23-year-old was attacked in Teme Crescent, Millbrook, at 4.30am in what police say was an "altercation”.
She suffered wounds to her arm and was treated by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.
Detectives from Shirley CID have launched a probe into the incident and today continued door to door enquiries in the Millbrook area.
A police spokeswoman said: "Anyone in the Teme Crescent area at the time is asked to call Shirley CID."
A 17-year-old youth has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and is currently being treated for head injuries sustained in the incident.
A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Trust said he has been taken to Southampton General Hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Anyone who witnessed the attack should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
