MOVIES will be returning to the silver screen at a Hampshire theatre venue.

The Point in Eastleigh is celebrating after getting a state-of-the-art digital projector.

It comes after changes to traditional 35mm films meant that it was difficult to source films to screen.

But now thanks to an £8,000 grant from the Eastleigh Local Area Committee (ELAC), the venue in Leigh Road is gearing up for a new season of film.

The chairman of ELAC, Councillor Paul Bicknell, said: “We are pleased to be able to extend the facility for local members of our community to continue to enjoy film showings at the Point.”
