A CAR was completely damaged by flames when it caught alight in a Hampshire neighbourhood this morning.
The black Ford Focus was found burning in Tamorisk Drive, Totton, at 6.20am.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
Neighbours raised the alarm after hearing the alarm going off and flames and smoke coming from its bonnet.
Crews from Totton fire station arrived within minutes to use breathing apparatus and a hose reel to put it out.
The car's interior was completely destroyed in the blaze, while the intense heat blew out its windows.
Neighbour Diane Harvey, 58, said: “We heard the alarm going off and thought the wind must have caused it.
“Then we looked out and saw clouds of smoke.
“It's a bit of a shock to wake up to it first thing in the morning.”
