THOUSANDS of motorists faced traffic misery this morning after a rush-hour crash on a Hampshire motorway.
The M27 was closed but has since been reopened on the westbound carriageway between junctions four for the M3 and three for the M271, due to a car being on its roof following an incident.
The incident involved a black Renault Clio and a black Mercedes C220.
The Mercedes C220 ended up on its roof.
One fire crew from Eastleigh was at the scene to provide assistance for the police and the ambulance service.
South Central Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle and treated two patients for neck injuries.
They were taken to Southampton General Hospital for more treatment.
Two lanes have since been reopened but traffic was backed up past junction five for some considerable time.
