A YOUNG woman from Southampton has leapt from great heights in memory of her beloved auntie.
Laura Fagan gathered seven of her relatives and friends to complete a charity skydive in aid of Macmillan as a tribute to her auntie, Lynne Small.
Lynne, who also lived in the city, lost her five-year battle against cancer aged just 50 in 2012.
She was a huge part of Laura’s life so Laura was determined to do something worthwhile in her memory.
The 24-year-old, who works in sales for Newsquest Media, said: “Auntie Lynne was like my second mum and we miss her a lot.
“We wanted to do it for Macmillan because they were so good to her. The nurses were so supportive and my whole family love them so it was great to do something all together to help them.”
The family has raised more than £800 and Laura is considering doing a sky-dive a year to bring everyone together as a way of remembering Lynne.
“The sky-dive was the best feeling in the world,” she said. “I was so scared – it’s not natural to just fall out of a plane but when you’re in the air it’s incredible and it seemed so fitting to be up in the sky doing something for my wonderful auntie.”
