FIRE fighters were called out to a flat fire in Southampton tonight after a cooker caught fire and initial reports of a person trapped inside.
Three fire crews from St Mary’s and Redbridge were sent to Cranbury Avenue in Newtown at about 7.10pm but were en route that informed the 50-year old woman was not trapped as had been previously thought.
She was treated for minor smoke inhalation by the fire service but received no further treatment and the small fire was extinguished within minutes leaving only smoke damage in the apartment.
