SHE’S the Hampshire woman hoping she has what it takes to be crowned Miss British Empire at an international beauty pageant tonight.
Aryana Vashisht is competing for the title with 33 other women but is hoping to wow the judges and the crowd at a gala event tonight.
Born and raised in Bassett, 27-year-old Aryana was invited to enter after auditioning for the competition last year.
She is one of thousands of women from across the UK and the Commonwealth who initially entered but now she’s made it to the finals, taking place in a glitzy club in London’s West End tonight.
Aryana, a former St Anne’s pupil who lives in Chandler’s Ford and runs her own health and dietary company, said she hoped she could represent Britain.
She said: “Miss British Empire is a different kind of beauty pageant, girls come in all different shapes and sizes.
“The ethos is nice, being from an Asian background, it’s great that I can get the chance to represent Britain.”
