Woman, 24, died after jumping from bridge
A YOUNG Southampton woman died after jumping from the Itchen Bridge, an inquest heard.
The body of Rebecca Currie, who had a history of mental health issues, was found at low tide on the morning of August 17 this year.
A post-mortem concluded that the 24-year-old, of Winchester Road, Southampton, drowned and had nearly double the drink-drive limit of alcohol in her blood at the time.
The court heard how she left the Unit Nightclub in St Mary’s Road on the night of her death and took a taxi to the Itchen Bridge.
She was last seen by the driver walking off into the night.
Senior central Hampshire coroner Grahame Short rule Rebecca had intended to take her own life.
