MOTORISTS are being urged to be vigilant after a spate of vandalism to drain covers in a Hampshire town.
Drivers and residents in Totton are being asked to stay alert after the covers were lifted and thrown into the drains.
The affected covers are in Magpie Drive, Blackwater Drive and Gradidge Way.
Totton county councillor David Harrison has alerted people in the area. He said: “I know it is hard to believe how stupid and dangerous people can be but somebody is going around, lifting up these covers and dropping them into the pit.
“The obvious danger is that somebody will fall into them and injure their foot or their leg.”
