Staff at one of Hampshire’s top hotels are celebrating after the establishment was nominated for a string of top awards.
The Montagu Arms at Beaulieu has also retained its Michelin Star for the sixth year in a row, and remains the only hotel in the New Forest to have the prestigious accolade.
The Terrace restaurant has become a firm favourite with foodies from across the south, with dishes such as grilled monkfish tail with asparagus, mussel risotto and rosemary velouté, or free range chicken, summer truffle dauphine potatoes and cheese fondue served up to guests.
Head chef Matthew Tomkinson has seen his emphasis on local produce and seasonal menus rewarded with a nomination for Chef of the Year in the Hotel Cateys 2014 awards, having won the award last year.
He and his team at The Terrace have also been shortlisted in the same awards for the Hotel Restaurant Team of the Year.
Mr Tomkinson is also in the running to win Chef of the Year at the Hampshire Life Food and Drink Awards 2014, as well as the Best Hampshire Menu.
Hotel resident manager Sunil Kanjanghat said: “To achieve such success in one month has brought an overwhelming sense of pride to the whole team here at The Montagu Arms Hotel.
“Receiving four nominations in two prestigious award ceremonies is fantastic news and is a testament to the dedication and hard work of each member of staff here at the hotel and restaurant.
“Being situated in one of the most beautiful places in the country enables Matthew to really develop the menu to be locally focused – it gives us a unique offering which the guests love.
“We are incredibly lucky that we have this opportunity to source much of our menu just a few miles from our doorstep.
“The benefits of this wonderful food sourcing opportunity can be seen simply by the recent nominations and retention of our Michelin Star.”
Hampshire actress Sarah Parish will host the Hampshire Life Food and Drink Awards on November 26 at The Elvetham Hotel in Hook, while the winners of the Hotel Cateys Awards 2014 will be announced at a ceremony in London on November 28.
