ONE of the world’s most luxurious and hi-tech cruise ships arrives in Southampton today.
The flagship Quantum of the Seas is due to be docking at the city’s port for the first time at 5pm.
The 167,800-ton, 4,180 passenger ship is one of the most innovative in the world and boasts a distinctive North Star pod riding above its 16 decks.
Robot bartenders, a skydiving simulator, the first dodgem ride at sea, virtual balconies inside cabins and dynamic dining allowing guests to choose from numerous onboard restaurants are among the highlights.
The vessel will stay for a five-day visit before crossing the Atlantic to her home port in New Jersey. She will later be sailing from Shanghai to capture the emerging Asian marker.
It is the second of two visits to the port of state-of-the-art Royal Caribbean vessels following the Oasis of the Seas visiting the port earlier this month.
