A TEMPORARY home has been found for a cancer support centre in Romsey.
Services at Jane Scarth House which Wessex Cancer provides end today when the charity pulls out of the town.
A new charity, Romsey Cancer Support Centre, takes over running Jane Scarth House services from Monday, November 3 operating at temporary accommodation in Gorgeous Gowns former premises in the Hundred until they get the thumbs up to move into Jane Scarth House itself.
Chairman of Romsey Cancer Support Centre Mike Gratton said things are progressing well with taking over the befriending centre.
“This is an interim measure until we get into Jane Scarth House. However we are in a position to offer the facilities that were provided there, at Gorgeous Gowns old premises which is virtually opposite Jane Scarth House,” said Mr Gratton.
The support centre will be open Monday to Friday 10am to 4.30pm.
A charity supper dance held at St Edwards School in Sherfield English has raised £4,000 towards Jane Scarth House.
