THIEVES stole a pensioner's car while she sold poppies in a Hampshire village.
A 71-year-old woman was selling pins for the Royal British Legion when thieves struck in Stockbridge, near Winchester.
The owner was selling commemorative pins on Sunday when her Black Proton Savvy was stolen from Old London Road.
Brian Godwin, the legion's branch chairman for Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford and district, said: βIt's a bad state of affairs. We don't get paid for doing this - it's all voluntary, and it's really sad that someone one has gone and done this.β
Police said a couple in their early 20s may have witnessed the incident and asked anyone with information to call 101.
