A HAMPSHIRE community centre could be transformed by a £200,000 refurbishment.
Fareham Borough Council will decide on Monday whether to allocate the funding to Abshot Community Centre, near Fareham. A survey of the building in 2008 found that it is in need of “substantial” improvements to the roof, gutters, disability access, insulation, and electric system.
The centre is run by Abshot Community Association, a voluntary organisation set up to run and maintain the facilities.
A wide variety of groups use the centre for exercise, children’s activities, Brownies, yoga and dance classes.
