FORMER council offices in the centre of Southampton are set to be converted into student flats.
As previously revealed by the Daily Echo, Marland House in Civic Centre Road was sold by the city council to a developer for more than £10 million.
The firm, Brick Projects (Reading) Ltd, handed in plans to convert the nine-storey building into a 100-flat student development.
City council chiefs have sold the building, along with other smaller properties, to save hundreds of thousands of pounds a year.
Much of the money raised through the sale will help mend the city’s pothole-strewn residential roads.
