POLICE have charged a man after a spate of burglaries in Hampshire.
Detectives investigating the break-ins have today charged Christopher Doughty with two offences of aggravated burglary.
The 53-year-old, from Holly Gardens in West End, will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on November 18.
Police swooped on eight addresses in Southampton, Eastleigh and Hedge End on Tuesday as they investigate the burglaries in West End, Bishops Waltham and Hambledon.
Four other men from Southampton, aged 24, 29, 36 and 48, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle, and have been bailed pending further enquiries until January 7.
A 43-year-old man from the city has also been arrested on suspicion of the same offence, and is currently being questioned by police.
