A TEENAGER has been stabbed in the face with a screwdriver this afternoon just yards from his Hampshire home.
The 15-year-old was walking along Wimpson Lane, in Millbrook, when he suddenly found himself surrounded by a gang of three youths.
When the teenager tried to head in the opposition direction he was shoved and punched in the face by one of the males, who had a screwdriver between his knuckles.
As the victim stumbled, he was punched several more times, causing him to fall to the floor.
As he fell his mobile phone fell out of his pocket, which was grabbed by one of the youths, who then fled in the direction of Kendal Avenue.
Officers were quickly called to the area and three males were arrested within an hour of the attack happening.
The victim suffered serious cuts to his lips and is being taken to hospital to be checked over.
Anyone with information about the attack should contact Shirley CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
