A BIKER has been injured in a collision on a busy Southampton road this evening.

Shirley Road was closed in both directions causing traffic chaos after a motorbike and a Renault Clio car collided outside Shirley Police Station at about 5.25pm.

Paramedics were on the scene treating the biker who is believed to have suffered minor injuries while the road is closed between Villiers Road and The Brass Monkey pub.

The road was reopened by 6.30pm after the biker was taken to hospital for treatment.
