A BODY has been found in a Hampshire river this morning.
Police recovered a woman’s body from the River Test near Romsey at around 8.20am this morning.
Specially trained water recovery officers from the Force Support Unit attended the scene near Lee Park Farm after a worker on the nearby Broadlands Estate spotted the woman.
Officers believe her clothing and description matches that of a 54-year-old woman who went missing on October 21 when her wheelchair was found near the banks of the river.
It sparked a major search and rescue operation after workmen reported seeing the woman near the water’s edge near the Cromwell Arms at Mainstone.
Police divers and helicopters were drafted into to carry out a search of the River Test between Romsey and Southampton Water.
