A MAJOR road is closed westbound after a lorry overturned in the early hours of the morning.
The A31 has been shut between Cadnam in the New Forest and Ringwood as a result of the collision, which took place near to the Burley turn-off.
The lorry ended up on its side on the central reservation as a result of the crash.
However, no one was injured.
A diversion was put in place from junction two of the M27 via the A326 to Totton and theA35 south via Lyndhurst towards the A338 at Bournemouth.
The road was reopened at around 1pm.
Just one lane was closed when recovery began this morning, but the Highways Agency closed off the full stretch to allow for the vehicle to be safely removed.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "This was reported to police at 4.30am.
"It appears that a lorry went into the central reservation and overturned. However, there are no injuries."
