THE family of five-year-old Hampshire brain cancer patient Ashya King face selling their holiday home to pay for mounting legal bills.
His parents say they may have no option but to sell their house in Spain, to fund their ongoing battle to get Ashya the best treatment possible.
They have also had expensive living costs in the Czech Republic where Ashya underwent six weeks of pioneering proton beam therapy to try to cure his brain tumour.
Brett, 51, and Naghmeh King, 45, initially thought their expenses would be paid by charity Kids ‘n’ Cancer, which pledged to give them up to £100,000.
But because the treatment was then paid for by the NHS the charity cannot contribute towards the family’s legal expenses, which are expected to cost tens of thousands of pounds.

Mr King said the family is trying to raise the funds themselves and would sell the home if needed.
Meanwhile Ashya is expected to start chemotherapy in the near future.
The Malaga home formed part of an international search for the family when they went missing after taking Ashya out of Southampton General Hospital in August after a dispute with doctors over his treatment.
His parents were arrested in Spain on a European warrant but released days later and reunited with their son in a Spanish hospital.
Kids ‘n’ Cancer has confirmed the money earmarked for Ashya will now be used to help other sick children.
