DOZENS of youngsters from Southampton cleaned up a city neighbourhood as part of a community initiative.
The team of Junior Neighbourhood Wardens got to work on land outside Albion Towers in Golden Grove.
At the event on Thursday the youngsters learned more about the scheme, which sees wardens work with city council neighbourhood wardens to take part in clean-ups, painting projects and removing graffiti.
City council housing Cabinet member Warwick Payne said: “The Junior Neighbourhood Wardens set an excellent example to other young people and make a real contribution to the city and their local communities, making them better places to live.
“The Junior Wardens prove that the next generation actively care about their community and many of these young people have gone on to become Junior Neighbourhood Leaders, becoming excellent role models for younger children.”
