Shipping minister visits academy
A SENIOR Government minister will today visit Hampshire to meet the emerging maritime workers of the future.
Shipping and Ports minister John Hayes will meet staff and students at the Warsash Maritime Academy.
The centre is run by Southampton Solent University and provides top class training for the sector’s future employees.
The Conservative MP’s trip marks the launch of a three-day Government and maritime industry skills week focusing on promoting the sector’s skills and high training standards.
