VIDEO analysts claim they can pinpoint where Hampshire hostage John Cantlie was last filmed by his Islamic State (IS) captors.

The latest propaganda video appeared online just 11 days after John’s Hampshire father, Paul Cantlie, died.

As previously reported, the 80-yearold from Droxford made an emotional plea from his hospital bed urging captors to release his son, a photojournalist who has been held hostage since 2012.

In the latest IS video, John says to the camera that the viewer can see the northern Syrian town of Kobane in the background.

The footage is presented in two locations – on a street and from a rooftop – which the experts claim they have been able to identify.

The team of analysts, commissioned by The Times, said that by studying the footage closely it appeared that Cantlie was in the north-eastern part of Kobane. Kobane has been the focus of US-led airstrikes over the past fortnight. Over the past few weeks, Cantlie, 43, has appeared in a series of videos released by IS.
