A Royal Navy officer from Southampton has added her voice to the national Remembrance campaigns launched by the Royal British Legion.
The online campaign from the RBL is #PoppySelfie where members of the public and Service personnel can post a photo of themselves and their personal reasons for wearing the poppy.
Each day until Remembrance Sunday the Royal Navy is posting a selection of images of sailors to social media to support RBL campaign.
Lieutenant Jennifer Taylor, 25, said: “I wear my poppy as I come from a military family. My grandfather was a Japanese POW in the Second World War, my father was flying with the Royal Navy in the Falklands conflict and my sister has served in Libya and Afghanistan.
"During all these campaigns and more Service personnel have given their lives for our freedom.”
Lt Taylor is a Navigating Officer and is on a six-month deployment on board Royal Navy minehunter HMS Penzance, based in Bahrain in the Middle East.
The former University of Southampton student has been in the Royal Navy since 2011 and cites her favourite deployment as her current one.
Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines have been practising their drill training in preparation for Remembrance Sunday when they will march in front of the Cenotaph in London along with the other two Services.
More than a hundred Naval personnel will be on parade representing their Service alongside members of the British government and Commonwealth countries.
